Food is excellent but not if you got little ones.
Very noisy apartments especailly when young men banging on your doors at 4 in the morning: as they pissed out their tiny brains they cant find their own room.
There is no air conditioning in rooms, you have to hire a fan at a price, shame the hotel didn't get them put in when built only in 1987. It's always been a hot island, they should known but its hotel's way of making more money from you.
Pool is nice, it's just a shame they don't clean the ground. The sun loungers and the small tables you use to put your plastic cups in, they are all manky only because the smokers put the dirty fag ends in, instead of using an ash tray or plastic off your drinks when you finish with them.
Only 2 drinks per person, 1/2 pint size too the drink doesn't last long, and your not allowed a pint plastic cup as they're for cash paying customers only, and cash only customers are allowed proper glasses . It's a shame as i liked the shape of the pool and the fact there's no grassed areas for little insects to roam around you.
I won't be going back to the Columbus, sorry staff you are great. It's just the way things are run and done there, they need to get their priorities right to encourage the ideal holiday maker to come back , and don't book with jet2 you get the crappy rooms.

Poor hotel with misleading descriptions in Thomas Cook brochures.

Hotel was clean, food was fine but got fed up of same selection during the week. We went half board but those who went all- inc said they could only get one drink per person and had to get them from a certain bar.
It was in a good location for town, pools were good size and there was a nice sun terrace with 2 jacuzzis on the 6th floor of the hotel (roof), which we only found back end of holiday as no-one tells you.
Much as the staff are not the friendliest. Also you are given a swipe card for room door that I had to get reprogrammed 5 times because it kept not working.
Rooms are fine but two single beds so we had to push together but overall hotel is good.

Hotel was quite nice but limited entertainment, also corridors a bit echoish.
However in a very central area with easy access to beach and shops, and within walking distance of Los Cristianos.
Went to a spectacular club called Divine Soul which was absolutely superb, the entertainment was first class and no admission fee, but we found out that we could reserve our seats for a small fee, which meant we could sit at a table with waitress service and just sit back and enjoy the wonderful temptations, Four tops, Supremes and other artists each night.
This totally made our holiday and we will definitely be going back there in October on our next visit.
